You don't have a content problem. You have a clarity problem.

Hi Reader,

Can I tell you the most common thing I hear from business owners?

"I just need to be more consistent."

And I get it. Consistency sounds like the answer. Post every day, show up every week, never miss a Monday - and eventually the algorithm gods will smile upon you, and the clients will come rolling in.

Except that's not really how it works. (Case in point... you didnt hear for me for eons on this list - right?)

Here's what I've noticed after years of working in marketing - most business owners don't have a consistency problem. They have a clarity problem.

They're not failing to show up because they're lazy or undisciplined - it's because every time they sit down to create something, they have to answer a dozen questions from scratch.

What do I post today? What's the point of this? Is this the right platform? Should I be doing Reels? What's my call to action? Does this even sound like me?

It's exhausting. And when showing up feels that hard, of course you avoid it.

The fix isn't to try harder. It's to make the decisions once - in advance, on purpose - so that when you sit down to create, the only job left is the actual creating.

That means knowing:

  • What you're trying to accomplish this month (one goal, not seven)
  • Which one or two platforms are actually worth your energy right now
  • What your audience needs to hear before they're ready to buy from you
  • What you're going to offer them when they are

When those four things are clear, content stops feeling like a mystery you have to solve every single day. It becomes a system you just run.

Your Weekly Clarity Cue

Answer these four questions - right now, for this month:

  • What's my one marketing goal this month?
  • Which platforms am I actually going to show up on?
  • What does my audience need to believe before they buy from me?
  • What am I inviting them to do when they're ready?

Write the answers down somewhere you'll actually see them. Sticky note on your monitor, note in your phone, top of your content doc - anywhere. Let those four answers be the filter for every piece of content you create this month.

If a post doesn't serve one of those answers, it goes in the drafts folder or the trash.

That's your marketing plan for this week. Easy peasy!

See you soon,

Courtney
